About Ouldouz
Born and raised in Iran, Ouldouz studied Chemistry at Sharif University of Technology.
PhD in Experimental and Industrial Organic Chemistry from the University of Barcelona in 2017, graduating with the highest qualification, Excellent Cum Laude.
Between 2017 and 2025, she carried out postdoctoral research appointments spanning Organic Chemistry (Prof. Rodolfo Lavilla, UB), Medicinal Chemistry (Prof. Diego Muñoz-Torrero, UB), and drug discovery for inflammatory skin diseases (Prof. Concepció Soler, IDIBELL). She also completed a short stay with Prof. Marc Vendrell at the University of Edinburgh, where she worked on the development of fluorescent probes.
In January 2026, she was appointed Lecturer in Organic Chemistry at the Faculty of Pharmacy and Food Sciences, University of Barcelona.
Her research is structured around three interconnected areas:
- Synthetic Methodology Development: The design and development of multicomponent reactions for the rapid assembly and diversification of structurally complex molecules.
- Reaction Space Charting: The systematic investigation of reaction conditions to uncover new reactivity pathways, optimize synthetic transformations, and gain mechanistic insights.
- Medicinal Chemistry & Chemical Biology: The design of fluorogenic probes, biologically active small-molecule libraries, and tailored molecular tools for imaging and therapeutic applications.
